THE COSMOGENESIS PROJECT

CORRUPTION

Intro

Corruption is the first game within the Cosmogenesis Project, a connected universe where systems don’t stay stable for long.

Here, the collapse has already begun.

It starts at the edges.
It moves faster than you expect.
And it doesn’t stop.

How It Plays

Corruption spreads across a connected network, moving from node to node as pressure builds.

As it advances:

Environments destabilise

Enemies begin to appear

The system becomes harder to control

Defeat enemies to recover purification charges.Use them to push the corruption back, temporarily.

Because nothing here stays fixed for long.

Why It Matters

Corruption isn’t just a standalone game.

It’s the first real test of the Cosmogenesis Project, where the system becomes something you can fight against.

What starts here doesn’t end here.

The Stakes

You’re always balancing two things:

Survival… and control.

Stay too long in one place, and the rest of the network collapses.
Move too quickly, and you won’t have the resources to stop it.

Every decision buys you time.

Every mistake accelerates the spread.

You’re not exploring a universe - you’re trying to hold it together.

WHAT IS IT?

The Cosmogenesis Project is my third-year university project, where I’m developing a space game focused on procedural generation and simulation. The goal is to build a universe that feels alive, dynamic, and continuously evolving, while avoiding the simulation stagnation common in many similar games.
